A transport and logistics center is to be built in the Khabarovsk territory of advanced development. The terminal for 300,000 TEU will be adjacent to the railway station of Khabarovsk-2. The center will mainly handle cargo delivered and dispatched by rail.
The transport and logistics center will be used as a hub for new logistics routes, it will be integrated into the international transport corridors system, the Khabarovsk Kray government said in a statement.
Such centers to be located along the TrasnSiberian and Baikal-Amur Railways in vicinity of Russian Far East ports are expected to help optimize container flows distribution.
According to the project investor, the terminal will deploy a network technology scheme that will allow of handling a block train within three hours.
The private investment into the project is expected to make some 6 bn rubles ($100 mn). The first stage of the terminal for 150,000 TEU per annum is scheduled to start operating in 2024. The final stage is to become operable in 2025.
