According to the RF Federal Customs Service, in January-October 2021 Russia exported 174.7 mn tons of coal, up 9.1% year-on-year. In terms of value, coal export amounted to $13.3 bn, up 30.1% year-on-year.
Coal import during the period under report remained on the previous year’s level making 18.1 mn tons, worth $333.9 mn, up 32.2% year-on-year.
Coke and coal char export in January-October 2021 made 2.6 mn tons, up 20.9% year-on-year, worth $770.4 mn (+94.9% year-on-year).
In October, coal export made 16.8 mn tons, up 20.8% year-on-year and down 21.4% month-on-month. Value-wise, coal export surged 2.2-fold year-on-year and declined by 5.7% month-on-month making 1.8 bn.
Coke and coal char export in October amounted to 251.5 thousand tons, down 24.3% year-on-year and up 6.9% month-on-month. In terms of value it was worth $101 mn, up 70% year-on-year and down 17.9% month-on-month.
