In January-October 2021, the sea ports of Ukraine handled 840.9 thousand TEU, down 1.7% year-on-year.
By way of comparison, Russia’s largest Black Sea port of Novorossiysk during January-October 2021 handled 675.3 thousand TEU growing by 7.5%.
According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration, export container traffic via the Ukrainian sea ports made 395. thousand TEU, down 3.5% year-on-year.
Import decreased by 2.6% down to 410.1 thousand TEU. Transit container traffic via the major Ukrainian ports declined by 10% down to 35.3 thousand TEU. Cabotage made 568 TEU.
Odessa handled 522.4 thousand TEU in January-October, up 2.2% year-on-year.
Container traffic via Pivdenniy (formerly, Yuzhny) decreased by 8.2% to make 186.8 thousand TEU.
Chernomorsk (formerly known as Ilyichevsk) handled 101.5 thousand TEU, down 18.9% year-on-year.
Olvia Specialized Sea Port (formerly, Oktyabrsk) handled 202 TEU (-52.2%).
