RZD Logistics and Russian Export Center have organized a test shipment of frozen poultry from Tambov in Central Russia to Tashkent in Uzbekistan in the framework of their AgroExpress block train project.
The train carrying frozen poultry is routed from the station of Tsna in Russia to the station of Segeli in Uzbekistan via the territory of Kazakhstan.
It is the first pilot shipment of agri products in the framework of the tripartite agreement on developing the Russia – Uzbekistan logistics corridor involving Russian Export Center, the national railway operators of Russia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, logistics operators, and the Russia, Kazakh and Uzbek customs and phytosanitary authorities.
The parties agreed on a special tariff rate. In future, the service is to become regular with trains running on schedule.
At present, Agroexpress trains run regularly on schedule from Moscow and Russian regions to China, and from Moscow to Vladivostok to be shipped by sea to China, Japan and Republic of Korea.
