According to the RF Federal Customs Service, during January-August 2021 Russia exported more than 4 mn tons of unwrought aluminum, up 2.6-fold year-on-year. In terms of value, unwrought aluminum export surged 3.4-fold year-on-year up to $8.7 bn.
Refined copper and unwrought copper alloys export declined by 2.5% year-on-year making 434.4 thousand tons worth more than $3.6 bn, up 46.9% year-on-year.
Unwrought nickel export in January-August 2021 decreased by 39.5% year-on-year amounting to 45 thousand tons worth $787.5 mn, down 15.2% year-on-year.
In August, unwrought aluminum export made 235.8 thousand tons tons, up 18.2% year-on-year and down 92.2% month-on-month. In terms of value, unwrought aluminum export grew by 54.5% year-on-year and dropped 93.5% month-on-month to make $481.1 mn.
Refined copper and unwrought copper alloys export was up 25.5% year-on-year and down 31.6% month-on-month to 47.5 thousand tons worth $355.3 mn, down 9.2% year-on-year and down 44.1% month-on-month.
Unwrought nickel export in August was on the last year’s August level and up 6.7-fold month-on-month to 10.1 thousand tons. In terms of value, it increased by 40.6% year-on-year and 7.1-fold month-on-month to make $187.9 mn.
