According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-June 2021 Russia exported 20.9 mn tons of ferrous metals, up 1.3% year-on-year. In terms of value, ferrous metals export grew by 47.8% up to $11.9 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was down 6.1% year-on-year to some 7.2 mn tons. In terms of value, it increased by 31.5% up to more than $3.7 bn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in January-June 2021 grew by 8.6% year-on-year up to more than 4 mn tons worth more than $2.9 bn, up 72.2%.
Cast iron export during the first 6 months 2021 increased by 2.2% year-on-year up to 1.8 mn tons worth $758.1 mn, up 42.5%.
Ferroalloys export in January-June 2021 grew by 7.9% year-on-year up to 396.1 thousand tons worth $581.9 mn (+26%).
In June 2021, according to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, ferrous metals export was down 13.6% year-on-year and up 23.7% month-on-month to 3.7 mn tons. In terms of value, it grew by 60.8% year-on-year, but declined by 27.4% month-on-month to make $2.5 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export in June 2021 was down 13.5% year-on-year and up 4.3% month-on-month making 1.1 tons. In terms of value, it increased by 55.8% year-on-year and by 12.9% month-on-month to $684.2 mn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in June 2021 was up 2.8% year-on-year and up 26.3% month-on-month making 764.9 thousand tons worth $708.4 mn (up 2.2-fold year-on-year and up 32.4% month-on-month).
Cast iron export in June 2021 made 432.5 thousand tons, down 34.1% year-on-year and up 2.2-fold month-on-month. In terms of value, it amounted to $208.7 mn, up 4.9% year-on-year and up 2.2-fold month-on-month.
Ferroalloy export in June 2021 was up 27.4% year-on-year and up 16.5% month-on-month to 73.4 thousand tons. In terms of value, it grew by 86.8% year-on-year and by 23.5% month-on-month to make $73.4 mn.
