Krasnoe Sormovo, part of United Shipbuilding Corporation, has started building a new series of RSD59 Project cargo ships. According to Mikhail Pershin, Director of the yard, the company has been able to reduce the construction period from 9 months down to 6 months and is capable of building 10 such vessels at a time.
The order will give a 100% workload for Krasnoe Sormovo for the time being. Since 2017, the yard has built 29 RSD59 Project dry cargo ships. This June, the company delivered four sister ships to the customers.
The vessels of RSD59 Project are designed to operate in Russian coastal waters and inner waterways, they have improved maneuverability and larger holds.
