53 Billion Rubles for Road Infrastructure Development

  • The Russian Government has assigned 53 bn rubles ($718.5 mn) for building and repairing road infrastructure, according to governmental decree No2077-r signed by RF Premier Mikhail Mishustin on July 28, 2021.

     A major share of the sum, namely, 42.8 bn rubles ($580.2 mn) is to be used for intensifying the construction of the M-12 high-speed highway connecting Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan. The highway is to make part of the Europe – West China corridor and is planned to become operable in 2024.

    Over 11 bn rubles ($149.1 mn) is to be distributed between 20 Russian regions and used to renovate regional, municipal and local roads. These projects include building a part of the ring road around Yekaterinburg, a bridge in Krasnoyarsk Kray, a bridge in Leningrad Oblast, etc.

    Earlier this year, over 160 bn rubles ($2.2 bn) was assigned for building and repairing roads.
