TOP-5 Russian Container Terminals in January-June 2021

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-June 2021 amounted to 2.8 mn TEU. Five terminals handled 1.5 mn TEU or 55.3% of this volume.

    In January-June 2021 Commercial Port of Vladivostok (VMTP) was the leader in terms of container throughput. Its container traffic increased by 16.6% year-on-year up to 364.5 thousand TEU.

    First Container Terminal rated the second in January-June 2021. It handled 321.4 thousand TEU, down 0.1% year-on-year.

    Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg decreased its container traffic by 11% down to 304.5 thousand TEU.

    Container traffic via NUTEP amounted to 297.2 thousand TEU, up 17.2% year-on-year.

    Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company handled 250.5 thousand TEU, up 17.8% year-on-year.

    It should be noted that the highest container throughput growth was via Baltic Stevedore Company in Kaliningrad. Its container traffic surged by 78.6%. Murmansk Commercial Sea Port was up 78.6%, Kurilsky Rybak, Krabozavod Affiliate in Nevelsk up 76.8%.

    The largest decrease in container traffic was in Vostokmorservice in Vladivostok (-82.5%), and Anroskrym in Port Kavkaz (-73.1%) and YuzhnoKurilsk Docker in Nevelsk (-71.7%).
