Agroexpress Trains to Run to Uzbekistan

  • RZD Logistics, Russian Export Center and Uzbekistan’s agri logistics operator Uzagrologistics Centers have signed an agreement to cooperate on developing Russia – Uzbekistan logistics corridor.

    The partners intend to launch RZD Logistics-operated Agroexpress reefer block trains for agri products between the station of Selyatino in Russia and the stations of Chikursai and Sergeli in Uzbekistan.

    In future, other routes can be added for export and import agri products between the two countries.

    According to Veronika Nikishina, MD of the Russian Export Center, Russia’s export to Uzbekistan in Q1 2021 made almost $1 bn growing 5% year-on-year.

    In 2020, the trade turnover between Russia and Uzbekistan expanded 15.7% year-on-year to make $5.88 bn, Dmitry Murev, RZD Logistics MD, added.
