On week 22, freight rates in the Azov region continue to grow rapidly. The rate for av3,000 mts parcel of wheat from the Sea of Azov to Marmara ports reaches the level of $32 pmt. The introduction of a new floating export tax from June 2 has so far not led to a sharp drop in the market, as many players expected. Charterers are actively planning shipments for June, and some are already starting to sign contracts for July. The mechanism of the new floating fee provides for its change every week, as a result, many contracts will be concluded on the spot market or with very strict laycan dates, Sea Lines expect.
In addition, due to the change in the export fee, this week the export of wheat, which was almost suspended in spring, has become more active. The export rate will be $28.1 pmt until June 8, while during the previous months it was Euro 59 pmt.
As for corn and barley, the current export rates are $52.2 and $39.6 pmt respectively. These figures will be valid till June 8.

In the Caspian, freight rates did not change compared to the previous week.
