TOP-5 Russian Container Terminals in January-April 2021

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-April 2021 amounted to more than 1.8 mn TEU. Five terminals handled 1 mn TEU or 55.3% of this volume.

    In January-April 2021 Commercial Port of Vladivostok (VMTP) is the leader in terms of container throughput. Its container traffic increased by 17.3% year-on-year up to 238.6 thousand TEU.

    First Container Terminal rates the second in January-April 2021. It handled 209.3 thousand TEU, down 5.8% year-on-year.

    Container traffic via NUTEP amounted to 202.6 thousand TEU, up 20.7% year-on-year.

    Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg decreased its container traffic by 16.5% down to 199.1 thousand TEU.

    Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company handled 151.1 thousand TEU, up 7.4% year-on-year.

    It should be noted that the highest container throughput growth was via Prostor DV in Sovetskaya Gavan. Its container traffic surged 4.7-fold. Astrakhan Port was up 2.6-fold, Murmansk Commercial Sea Port up 2.1-fold.

    The largest decrease in container traffic was in YuzhnoKurilsk Docker in Nevelsk (-82%), Anroskrym in Port Kavkaz (-61.8%) and Olya Commercial Sea Port (-57.6%).
