Rosterminalugol Expects 2021 Coal Handling Level with 2020

  • Rosterminalugol, the operator of the coal terminal in Ust-Luga, expects to handle some 24-25 mn tons during 2021. Last year, the company handled 26.5 mn tons.

The increase in throughput was driven by the cooperation between the terminal and the railway and the rail station of Luzhskaya serving the port of Ust-Luga.

Other factors that helped increase coal traffic via the terminal were implementing e-documents and handling longer trains consisting of up to 96 railcars.

The overall cargo throughput via Rosterminalugol since the terminal was put into operation made 220 mn tons.
