TOP-5 Russian Terminals’ Throughput in January-March 2021

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total cargo throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-March 2021 amounted to more than 198.1 mn tons (-4.3% year-on-year). Five terminals handled 54.9 mn tons or 27.7% of this volume.

    CPC-R in Novorossiysk remains the leader in January-March 2021 in terms of cargo throughput. Its cargo traffic decreased by 12.7% year-on-year down to 14.8 mn tons.

    Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port stepped a line up and rates the second in January-March 2021 compared to January-February 2021. Cargo traffic via the terminal amounted to 12.8 mn tons, down 20.7% year-on-year.

    Primorsk Commercial Port handled 12.6 mn tons, down 22.4% year-on-year.

    Cargo throughput via Transneft Kozmino Port in Vostochny decreased by 2.3% down to 8.1 mn tons.

    Vostochny Port handled 6.6 mn tons, down 8% year-on-year.

    It should be noted that the stevedores which demonstrated the highest growth did not get into the Top-5.

    Sinyaya Lenta in Korsakov saw its cargo traffic surge 49-fold, Za Rodiny Fishing Cooperative in Kaliningrad was up 21.5-fold and Nakhodka oil bunker up 12-fold.

    The largest decrease in cargo traffic was in Anroskrym in port Kavkaz (-97.1%), Balt Nafta Cooperative in Kaliningrad (-91.4%), and Morskoy Kolokol in Sevastopol (-77.8%).
