During 2020 Russia’s export of sawn goods made more than 18.5 mn tons, down 6.4% year-on-year. According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in terms of value, sawn goods export was down 4.2% making $4.3 bn.
Logs export decreased by 1.9% year-on-year down to 15.6 mn cbm worth more than $1 bn, down 8% year-on-year.
Plywood export increased by 5.9% year-on-year to make 2.9 mn cbm worth $1.2 bn, up 1.5% year-on-year.
Wood pulp export in 2020 amounted to 2.3 mn tons, up 12.9% year-on-year worth $1 bn, down 0.6% year-on-year.
Newsprint export made 1.1 mn tons, down 14.8% year-on-year, worth $360.9 mn, down 34.9% year-on-year.
In December, sawn goods export made 2 mn tons, up 7.3% year-on-year and up 44.1% month-on-month worth $344.9 mn, down 5.6% year-on-year and up 6.4% month-on-month.
Logs export made more than 1.4 mn cbm, down 13% year-on-year and up 5.6% month-on-month. In terms of value, it increased by 3.4% year-on-year and surged by 55.1% month-on-month to make $131.7 mn.
Plywood export in December, made 277.6 thousand cbm, up 22.7% year-on-year and up 21.6% month-on-month. In terms of value, it increased by 30.3% year-on-year and by 23.3% month-on-month making to $115.3 mn.
Wood pulp export made 226.5 thousand tons, up 11.4% year-on-year and up 21.2% month-on-month. In terms of value, wood pulp export increased by 38.9% year-on-year and by 28.6% month-on-month to make $106.5 mn.
Newsprint export declined by 36.1% year-on-year and grew by 5.2% month-on-month to make 69.4 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was down 40.2% year-on-year and up 6.6% month-to-month to $24.4 mn.
