According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January 2021 amounted to almost 418 thousand TEU. Five terminals handled 227.4 thousand TEU or 54.4% of this volume.
Commercial Port of Vladivostok (VMTP) is the leader in terms of container throughput. Its container traffic decreased by 0.1% down to 54.9 thousand TEU.
First Container Terminal rates the second in January 2021. It handled 49.2 thousand TEU, down 9% year-on-year.
Container traffic via Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg, which was the Russian container market leader a year ago, amounted to 48.1 thousand TEU, down 21.4% year-on-year.
NUTEP increased its container traffic by 9.5% up to 43.7 thousand TEU in January 2021.
Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company handled 31.5 thousand TEU, down 5.8% year-on-year.

It should be noted that the highest container throughput growth was via Astrakhan Port. Its container traffic surged 3.3-fold. Murmansk Commercial Sea Port was up 3.3-fold, and Arctic Consulting Service in Arkhangelsk up 3.1-fold.
The largest decrease in container traffic was in Anroskrym in Port Kavkaz (-93.7%), YuzhnoKurilsk Docker in Nevelsk (-88%), and Nakhodka Sea Fishing Port (-66.7%).
