First Russian-Built Aframax Embarks on Maiden Voyage

  • The first Aframax tanker built in Russia, “Vladimir Monomakh” has set sail for her maiden voyage. The vessel was laid down at the Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex in the Russian Far East on September 11, 2018, and delivered to the customer, Rosneft’s subsidiary Rosnefteflot, in December 2020.

    “Vladimir Monomakh” is the lead ship in the Aframax series under construction at Zvezda. The vessels are designed to transport oil and products with an unlimited area of navigation. Their main and auxiliary power units can run on both traditional fuel and liquefied natural gas.

    The length of the vessel is 250 m, the beam is 44 m, the deadweight is 114 thousand tons, the speed is 14.6 knots, the ice class is ICE-1A.There is a swimming pool, a sauna, a gym, and cabins for each of the crew with a high-speed Internet acces.
