Container Traffic via Far East Basin Ports in November Down 0.5%

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput via the Far East basin ports in November 2020 decreased by 0.5% year-on-year. Export declined by 4.9%, cabotage by 8.4%. Import was up 9.3%, and transit up 25.4%.

    The share of the Far East basin in the total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in November 2020 amounted to 34.5%.

    Laden container throughput in the Far East increased by 6.5% year-on-year. Reefer containers accounted for 7.4% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 92.6%. Imports made 47.7% of all the laden containers, cabotage 25.7%, exports 20%, and transit 6.6%.

    Empty container traffic was down 14.8%.

    The port of Vladivostok accounted for 52.9% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Far East basin sea ports in November. Vostochny handled 29.2%, and Korsakov 7.5% of the total.
