Last week FESCO Transport Group has announced appointing new CEO of Commercial Port of Vladivostok (VMTP), which is port of the Group. The Supervisory Board of the port appointed Roman Kukharuk replacing Zairbek Yusupov, who stood at the helm of VMTP since February 2016.
The decision was opposed by the local dockers’ union, which claimed the actions of the shareholders was ‘a Moscow raiders’ attack’. The union demanded that the newly appointed FESCO and VMTP top management come to the port and answer the questions of the personnel.
However, when FESCO President Arkady Korostelev and VMTP CEO Roman Kukharuk arrived at the port on Monday, they were assaulted with helmets thrown at them.
