Freight Rates from Ust-Luga, Week 39, 2020

  • On week 39, the number of grain shipments in the Baltic region started decreasing, which affected the freight market. The demand for Handy and Supramax bulkers was growing, according to Sea Line ship brokers

    Freight rates for 30,000-35,000 dwt bulkers from Ust-Luga to some destinations declined.

    Last week, rates on the Ust-Luga – Continent – Ust-Luga routes were $19 pmt, rates from Ust-Luga to ARAG made $19.5 pmt.

    Rates from Ust-Luga were $25 pmt to West Med rates, and $28.5 pmt to East Med.

    Rates for 30,000-35,000 dwt bulkers from Ust-Luga to the Black Sea amounted to $29 pmt, rates to the Persian Gulf were $40 pmt.

    The small tonnage bulker segment in the Baltic demonstrated opposite trends for different destinations.

    Thus, rates from Ust-Luga to Klaipeda were €10.25 pmt, and those to Riga and Stockholm were €8.75 pmt.

    Freight rates from Ust-Luga to Hamburg made €16 pmt, and to Bremerhaven €16.5 pmt.

    Rates from Ust-Luga to ARAG were €19.9 pmt, and those to Dublin €28 pmt.
