According to the RF Federal Customs Service, in January-July 2020 Russia exported 104.9 mn tons of coal, down 11.4% year-on-year. In terms of value, coal export amounted to $6.9 bn, down 29.9% year-on-year.
Coal import during the period under report made 12.3 mn tons, up 0.7% year-on-year, worth $173.7 mn, down 22.5% year-on-year.
Coke and coal char export made 1.3 mn tons, down 31.7% year-on-year, worth $234.9 mn (-50.8% year-on-year).
In July, coal export made 14.9 mn tons, up 8.4% year-on-year and down 14.8% month-on-month. Value-wise, coal export declined by 9.9% year-on-year and by 16.8% month-on-month making over $956.7 mn.
Coke and coal char export in July amounted to 280.6 thousand tons, up 18.4% year-on-year and up 29.8% month-on-month. In terms of value it was worth $47.3 mn, down 13.5% year-on-year and up 27.8% month-on-month.
