According to the RF Federal Customs Service, in January-June 2020 Russia exported 89.9 mn tons of coal, down 13.9% year-on-year. In terms of value, coal export amounted to $5.9 bn, down 32.3% year-on-year.
Coal import during the period under report made 10.9 mn tons, up 5.1% year-on-year, worth $154.5 mn, down 19% year-on-year.
Coke and coal char export in H1 2020 made more than 1 mn tons, down 38.8% year-on-year, worth $187.6 mn (-55.7% year-on-year).
In June, coal export made 17.6 mn tons, down 8.9% year-on-year and up 12.3% month-on-month. Value-wise, coal export declined by 24.7% year-on-year and grew by 12.6% month-on-month making $1.2 bn.
Coke and coal char export in June amounted to 216.1 thousand tons, down 44.8% year-on-year and up 15.4% month-on-month. In terms of value it was worth $37 mn, down 63.3% year-on-year and up 12.1% month-on-month.
