Russia’s Northern Shipping Company has acquired a new vessels built at the Ferus Smit yard in Germany.
The 2002-built 9,100 dwt, LOA 129 m and 17.3 beam vessel has an А1ice class notation. It can transport general cargo, timber and logs, and containers, the nominal container capacity is 504 TEU.
NSC named the vessel “Siyanie Severa” (literally, ‘Radiance of North’ in Russian). She will be mainly deployed transporting cargo from Arkhangelsk.
The first sailing as part of the NSC fleet will be in August to deliver general cargo to Pevek in Chukotka region along the Northern Sea Route.
