Russian Government Suspends Fuel Import

  • The Government of the Russian Federation has prohibited the import of several types of fuel into the country till October 1, 2020, according to decree No.732 of 22 May 2020 signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

    This measure is introduced ‘in order to ensure the energy security of the Russian Federation and stabilization in the domestic fuel market’.

    ‘To implement from the date of entry into force of this decree until October 1, 2020 a temporary ban on the import of fuels into the Russian Federation according to the list,’ the document reads. The list includes motor gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, marine fuel and gasoil.

    The validity period of the decree may be changed.
