Three new Konecranes RTG gantry container cranes have arrived were delivered to Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg.
This is the first shipment out of the five RTGs to be delivered this year as part of the terminal’s development programme. The RTG park of the terminal is to expand to 24 cranes in 2020.
The equipment will be used to move containers at the back yards of the terminal. The new cranes have a capacity of 50 tons, they can stack containers 5+1 high in 7+1 rows.
The new equipment is fully electromechanically driven, which offers better reliability and higher efficiency, as well as cuts the cost of maintenance and spare parts.
The cranes are equipped with DGPS control systems for automatic straightness and auto-stop, additional safety systems using laser sensors, and a control cabin that meets all modern ergonomic standards.
The cranes are to be commissioned after the installation of additional equipment (radio antenna, radio terminals) and registration with the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor).
