Russia Starts Building First LNG-Powered Inland Vessel

  • The Zelenodolsk Shipyard has started building the hull of a Project 03622 Chaika inland pleasure boat to be equipped with LNG engines.

    This is the first LNG-powered passenger vessel to be built in Russia. The order was placed by State Transport Leasing Co. The project 03622 Chaika (‘Seagull’ in Russian) was designed by the Zelenodolsk Design Bureau.

    The single-hull boat with the engine room aft and the bridge in the fore part will have a capacity of 150-170 passengers. It will be deployed for pleasure trips and excursions.
