Clothes and Footwear Import

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-October 2019 Russia imported 53 mn pairs of leather footwear, down 0.7% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import declined by 7% year-on-year down to $1.4 bn.

    In October, leather footwear import was up 6.5% year-on-year, but down 34.5% month-on-month making 3.8 mn pairs worth $181 mn, up 11.4% year-on-year and down 25.9% month-on-month.

    Clothes import into Russia in January-October increased by 2.7% up to $6.2 bn. In Octember, it was up 2.8% year-on-year and down 9.3% month-on-month to $578.4 mn.

    Cotton fabric import during the first 10 months was up 14.8% year-on-year to 260.5 mn sqm. In terms of value it declined by 0.8% down to $131.6 mn.

    In October, cotton fabric import increased by 28.2% year-on-year and by 13% month-on-month amounting to $29.2 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $15 mn, up 7.1% year-on-year and up 40.2% month-on-month.

    Cotton fabric export from Russia during January-October 2019 increased by 25.1% year-on-year up to more than 87.8 mn sqm worth $40.3 mn, up 4.4%.

    In October, cotton fabric export grew by 16.8% year-on-year and declined by 25.4% month-on-month to make 7.4 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $3.9 mn, up 11.4% year-on-year and down 4.9% month-on-month.
