According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, during January-October of 2019 Russia’s export of sawn goods made some 16.8 mn tons, up 3.8% year-on-year. In terms of value, sawn goods export grew by just 0.4% making $3.8 bn.
In October, sawn goods export made about 1.7 mn thousand tons, down 1.2% year-on-year and up 1.5% month-on-month worth $380.4 mn, down 6.4% year-on-year and up 2.1% month-on-month.
Logs export declined during January-October by 16.2% year-on-year down to 12.7 mn cbm worth $899.8 mn, down 25.8% year-on-year.
In October, logs export made 1.3 mn cbm, down 26.5% year-on-year and down 0.9% month-on-month. In terms of value, it decreased by 32.7% year-on-year and by 0.7% month-on-month to make $84.1 mn.
Plywood export in January-October increased by 3.1% year-on-year up to some 2.3 bn cbm worth some $967.5 mn, down 15.1%.
In October, plywood export made some 239.3 thousand cbm, up 8.5% year-on-year and up 8.1% month-on-month. In terms of value, it declined by 16.4% year-on-year and grew by 9.5% month-on-month amounting to $95.3 mn.
Wood pulp export in January-October declined by 2.6% year-on-year amounting to some 1.7 mn tons worth $880.6 mn, down 28.9%.
In October, it made 175.9 thousand tons, down 2.7% year-on-year and up 16.6% month-on-month. In terms of value, wood pulp export dropped by 42.9% year-on-year and increased by 7.7% month-on-month to make $71.3 mn.
Newsprint export in January-October grew by 6.3% year-on-year up to more than 1 mn tons worth $469.5 mn, down 12.1%.
In October, newsprint export decreased by 0.3% year-on-year and by 3.3% month-on-month down to 91.9 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was down 40.6% year-on-year and down 8.3% month-on-month to $35.4 mn.
