According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, Russia’s car import during January-September 2019 amounted to 223.7 thousand units, up 5.3% year-on-year. Truck import increased by 16.7% year-on-year up to 21 thousand units.
In terms of value, car import during January-September increased by 13.5% year-on-year up to $5.9 bn. Truck import decreased slightly by 0.9% down to $1.4 bn.
In September, car import was up 3.1% year-on-year and up 5.9% month-on-month amounting to 27 thousand units worth $691.3 mn, up 15.5% year-on-year and up 6.3% month-on-month.
Truck import in September made 2.4 thousand units, up 4.3% year-on-year and on the same level with the previous month. In terms of value, truck import increased by 1.5% year-on-year and by 12.7% month-on-month down to $139.7 mn.
Russia’s car export in January-September 2019 was up 27.3 year-on-year to 84 thousand units. Truck export increased by 4.2% making 10 thousand units.
In terms of value, car export was up 33.3% year-on-year amounting to more than $1.2 bn. Truck export increased by 14.1% to make $258.6 mn.
In September, car export grew by 23.3% year-on-year and by 19.1% month-on-month amounting to 10.6 thousand units worth $162 mn, up 39.4% year-on-year and up 21.8% month-on-month.
Truck export in September 2019 made 1.4 thousand units, up 16.7 year-on-year and up 27.3% month-on-month. In terms of value, it was worth $40 mn, up 22.7% year-on-year and up 36.1% month-on-month.
