According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-August 2019 Russia imported 43.3 mn pairs of leather footwear, down .3.8% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import declined by 10.6% year-on-year down to $1.1 bn.
In August, leather footwear import was down 10% year-on-year, but up 24.6% month-on-month making 8.1 mn pairs.
Clothes import into Russia in January-August increased by 2.2% up to $4.9 mn. In August, it was up 2.1% year-on-year and up 2.9% month-on-month to $834.3 mn.
Cotton fabric import during the first 8 months was up 10.8% year-on-year to almost 202.3 mn sqm worth $202.3 mn. In terms of value it grew by 1.3% up to $105.3 mn.
In August, cotton fabric import decreased by 32.8% year-on-year and grew by 17.2% month-on-month amounting to $29.5 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $11.4 mn, up 4.6% year-on-year and down 8.8% month-on-month.
Cotton fabric export from Russia during January-August 2019 increased by 26.1% year-on-year up to more than 69.6 mn sqm worth $31.8 mn, up 1.6%.
In August, cotton fabric export grew by 38.7% year-on-year and by 14% month-on-month to make 9 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $3.4 mn, up 6.3% year-on-year and up 13.3% month-on-month.
