According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, Russia’s car export in January-August 2019 was up 28.3% year-on-year to 73.4 thousand units. Truck export remained on the previous year’s level making 8.4 thousand units.
In terms of value, car export was up 32.8% year-on-year amounting to $1.1 bn. Truck export increased by 14.2% to make $218.5 mn.
In August, car export grew by 28.9% year-on-year and declined by 11% month-on-month amounting to 8.9 thousand units worth $133 mn, up 46.5% year-on-year and down 13.7% month-on-month.
Truck export in August 2019 made 1.1 thousand units, down 15.4 year-on-year and same as in July 2019. In terms of value it was worth $29.4 mn, down 14.3% year-on-year and dowm 12.2% month-on-month.
Russia’s car import during January-August 2019 amounted to 196.7 thousand units, up 5.7% year-on-year. Truck import increased by 18.5% year-on-year up to 18.6 thousand units.
In terms of value, car import during January-August increased by 13.3% year-on-year up to $5.2 bn. Truck import decreased slightly by 0.6% down to $1.3 bn.
In August, car import was up 7.6% year-on-year and down 7.3% month-on-month amounting to 25.5 thousand units worth $650.4 mn, up 16.7% year-on-year and up 9.9down 10.2% month-on-month.
Truck import in August made 2.4 thousand units, down 7.7% year-on-year and down 4% month-on-month. In terms of value, truck import decreased by 17.3% year-on-year and by 15.9% month-on-month down to $124 mn.
