Royal patronage adds prestige to TMS Awards

  • 23rd September 2019, Dubai, UAE: The Maritime Standard Awards has announced that, for the sixth consecutive year, the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group has been bestowed on the event. Sheikh Ahmed is a leading global business leader and His Highness has been at the forefront of Dubai’s economic development for over 30 years. In that time, he has led the development of the country’s aviation sector and has played a key role in formulating strong and successful economic, investment and fiscal strategies in support of the emirate’s long-term vision. He also chairs the important Executive Authority for Expo 2020.

Managing director, Trevor Pereira says, “It is humbling that His Highness has once again chosen to bestow his much valued patronage on The Maritime Standard Awards. The aim of the Awards is to recognise and reward achievement at the highest level and to encourage innovation, entrepreneurship and social responsibility, all causes I know are close to Sheikh Ahmed’s heart. It also says much about the importance that the wise leadership of the UAE attaches to the maritime sector that His Highness is willing to extend his patronage to the Awards again, and I know this will give added prestige to those who are honoured on the night.”

The TMS Awards 2019 take place at Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai, on Monday 21st October.  Full details can be found on the website www.tmsawards.com. As well as the winners of the various award categories chosen by an elite, and highly experienced independent judging panel, there will be a small number of very special awards presented by The Maritime Standard team for outstanding individual contributions. In total it is expected that around 29 awards will be presented on the night.
