According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, Russia’s car import during January-July 2019 amounted to 171.2 thousand units, up 5.4% year-on-year. Truck import increased by 23.7% year-on-year up to 16.2 thousand units.
In terms of value, car import during January-July increased by 12.8% year-on-year up to $4.5 bn. Truck import grew by 1.4% up to som $1.2 bn.
In July, car import was up 14.6% year-on-year and up 1.1% month-on-month amounting to 27.5 units worth $724.1 mn, up 21.1% year-on-year and up 9.9% month-on-month.
Truck import in July made 2.5 thousand units, down 3.8% year-on-year and down 10.7% month-on-month. In terms of value, truck import decreased by 5.6% year-on-year and by 26.5% month-on-month down to $147.6 mn.
Russia’s car export in January-July 2019 was up 28.5% year-on-year to 64.5 thousand units. Truck export increased by 2.8% up to 7.3 thousand units.
In terms of value, car export was up 31.3% year-on-year amounting to $917.4 mn. Truck export increased 20.9% to make $188.7 mn.
In July, car export grew by 42.9% year-on-year and by 18% month-on-month amounting to 10 thousand units worth $154.2 mn, up 59.1% year-on-year and 4.1% month-on-month.
Truck export in July 2019 made 1.1 thousand units, same as in July 2018 and up 10% month-on-month. In terms of value it was worth $33.5 mn, up 16.7% year-on-year and up 22.7% month-on-month.
