First Container Terminal in St. Petersburg has launched a new area for empty containers delivered to the terminal by truck. Since September 10 they are accepted at Storage Yard No. 2 (the so called Sand Yard).
The yard capacity is 5,000 TEU. It is located outside the main territory of FCT, which will save time for truckers and allow FCT to more intensively use its facilities for handling and storing laden boxes.
Additional movement of empty containers to and from the quayside will be done by FCT.
