According to the RF Federal Customs Service, in January-July 2019 Russia exported almost 118.4 mn tons of coal, up 9.1% year-on-year. In terms of value, coal export grew by 9.1% up to $9.8 bn.
Coal import during the period under report made 12.3 tons (+4% year-on-year) worth $223.6 mn (+3.8%).
Coke and coal char export during the first seven months of the year increased by 17.6% up to 1.9 mn tons. In terms of value it was up 14.7% to $477.7 mn.
In July, coal export made about 13.8 mn tons, up 20.1% year-on-year, but down 28.4% month-on-month. Value-wise, coal export increased by 4.2% year-on-year and dropped by 30.5% month-on-month making $1.062 bn.
Coke and coal char export in July amounted to 236.9 thousand tons surging by 59.3% year-on-year and plummeting by 39.5% month-on-month. In terms of value it was worth $54.7 mn, up 54.5% year-on-year and down 45.7% month-on-month.
