FESCO has signed an agreement with the Chinese logistics operators Best Ship Energy Management and Zhe Jiang Rui Neng Ocean Shipping on developing intermodal transportation of liquefied natural gas in tanker containers from the Russian Far East to China. The tripartite agreement was concluded during the Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok.
FESCO will develop logistics schemes for transporting tank-containerized LNG from the Russian Far East to China using either land-based regular services to the Northern provinces or liner services to the Southern and Central Chinese Provinces. FESCO is also ready to provide its rolling stock and vessels.
The Chinese partners will provide tank containers and will be responsible for selling LNG in China.
In future, the parties intend to study opportunities to expand their geographic scope to carry LNG to other destinations in the APR.
