According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, during January-June of 2019 Russia’s export of sawn goods made some 9.8 mn tons, up 4.8% year-on-year. In terms of value, sawn goods export grew by 2.2% making $2.3 bn.
In June, sawn goods export made about 1.7 mn thousand tons, down 3.9% year-on-year and down 4.7% month-on-month worth $385.3 mn, down 5.6% year-on-year and 4.5% month-on-month.
Logs export declined during January-June by 14.6% year-on-year down to 7.6 mn cbm worth $564.2 mn, down 25.3% year-on-year.
In June, logs export made 1.18 mn cbm, down 23.1% year-on-year and 10.3% month-on-month. In terms of value, it decreased by 30.4% year-on-year and 13.1% month-on-month to make $82.7 mn.
Plywood export in January-June declined by 0.4% year-on-year down to some 1.4 bn cbm worth some $589.3 mn, down 13.9%.
In June, plywood export made some 238 thousand cbm, up 6.2% year-on-year and up 5% month-on-month. In terms of value, it declined 14.3% year-on-year, but grew by 5.9% month-on-month amounting to $97.5 mn.
Wood pulp export in January-June was down 1.9% year-on-year to slightly over 1 mn tons worth $580..7 mn, down 22.8%.
In June, it made 164.3 thousand tons, down 8.8% year-on-year and up 0.8% month-on-month. In terms of value, it declined by 31.3% year-on-year and by 1.1% month-on-month to $91.2 mn.
Newsprint export in January-June grew by 14.4% year-on-year up to 619.8 thousand tons worth $303.9 mn, up 9.3%.
In June, newsprint export increased by 12.3% year-on-year and by 9.9% month-on-month up to 100.4 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was down 11.5% year-on-year and up 3.9% month-on-month to $44.7 mn.
