In the Sea of Azov, last year’s August scenario seems to be in force right now, but due to the higher upward trend in July the correction period also happened earlier.
According to Rufco shipbrokers, freight levels lost a couple of dollars during the past week. Some voices mention that freight has already reached USD24 for Rostov-Azov/Marmara wheat parcels but the majority of fixtures is yet done at a bit higher levels.
Black sea coasters are steady in their upward trend but the pace is yet relatively small.
Freight rates to the Sea of Marmara from Rostov make $25-26 per ton.
Freight rates from Rostov to SE Black Sea ports are $23-24 per ton.
In the Caspian, activity is decreasing and so do freight rates. The number of cargoes ex Volga river is decreasing together with charterers’ initial ideas.
