The cargo throughput of the Russian ports in the Southern region in May 2019 declined by 12.2% year-on-year. Export was down, cabotage dropped by 57.1%, and transit by 17.1%. Import, on the contrary, surged by 68.2%.
The major share of the total throughput is oil and products. Crude oil accounted for 39.3% of the overall volume, oil products for 23.5% and grains for 8.9%.
Novorossiysk
The aggregate result demonstrated by the stevedores operating in the port of Novorossiysk decreased by 9% year-on-year. Export was down 5.5%, import down 7.7%, transit down 14.4%. No cabotage was handled during the month under report.
Tuapse
In May 2019 Tuapse handled 23.5% less than during May 2018. The major share was export, and it dropped by 26.2%. Import surged 6.1-fold and cabotage 6.2-fold.
Rostov-on-the-Don
In May 2019 cargo throughput via Rostov declined by 11.3% year-on-year. Export increased by 6.8%, while import was down 3.8%, and cabotage down 77.2%. Transit was non-existent in May.
Taman
Cargo traffic via Taman grew by 37.9% year-on-year in May. Export surged by 53.3% while import was down 16.9% and transit down 2.7%.
Kavkaz
Cargo traffic via Port Kavkaz decreased by 27.9% year-on-year. Export was stable (+0.1%), import surged by 47.2% and cabotage plummeted by 49.9%.
