According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, Russia’s car export in January-April 2019 was up 30.6% year-on-year to 33.3 thousand units. Truck export increased by 7.9% up to 4.1 thousand units.
In terms of value, car export was up 28.5% year-on-year amounting to $454.4 mn. Truck export increased 28.3% to make $102.8 mn.
In April, car export grew 10.4% year-on-year and 15.2% month-on-month up to 10.6 thousand units worth $147.1 mn, up 12.2% year-on-year and 11% month-on-month. Truck export was up 15.4% year-on-year and 36.4% month-on-month to some 1.5 thousand units worth $32 bn, up 5.3% year-on-year and 1.6% month-on-month.
Car import during January-April 2019 amounted to 89.7 thousand units, down 3.9% year-on-year. Truck import, on the contrary, surged 40.6% year-on-year up to 9 thousand units.
In terms of value, car import increased 4.6% year-on-year up to $2.5 bn. Truck import during the first four months of 2019 grew by 10.8% up to $698.3 mn.
In April, car import increased 6.4% year-on-year and declined 4.1% month-on-month amounting to 28.1 thousand units worth $762.8 mn, up 18.4% year-on-year and down 7.7% month-on-month.
Truck import in April made some 3 thousand units, up 87.5% year-on-year and 11.1% month-on-month worth $207.5 mn, up 18.4% year-on-year and 7.3% month-on-month.
