According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, during January-April of 2019 Russia’s export of sawn goods made some 6.4 mn tons, up 10.6% year-on-year. In terms of value, sawn goods export grew by 6.9% making $1.5 bn.
In April, sawn goods export made about 1.9 mn thousand tons, up 12.7% year-on-year and 11.9% month-on-month worth $445.9 mn, up 11.1% year-on-year and 15.2% month-on-month.
Logs export declined during January-April by 12.4% year-on-year down to 5.1 mn cbm worth $386 mn, down 24.5% year-on-year.
In April, logs export made 1.26 mn cbm, down 5.4% year-on-year and 8.1% month-on-month. In terms of value, it decreased 12.9% year-on-year and 7.9% month-on-month amounting to $96.9 mn.
Plywood export in January-April declined by 0.5% year-on-year down to 889.4 thousand cbm worth some $399.3 mn, down 10.9%.
In April, plywood export made some 229.6 thousand cbm, down 4.7% year-on-year and 3.4% month-on-month. In terms of value, it declined 18.7% year-on-year and 5.3% month-on-month to make $99 mn.
Wood pulp export in January-April was up 0.9% year-on-year to 709 thousand tons worth $398.9 mn, down 19.2%.
In April, it made 186.9 thousand tons, down 4.6% year-on-year and up 3.9% month-on-month. In terms of value, it declined by 27.8% year-on-year and grew by 7.9% month-on-month to $105.4 mn.
Newsprint export in January-April grew by 19.9% year-on-year up to 428 thousand tons worth $216.2 mn, up 25.5%.
In April, newsprint export increased by 19.6% year-on-year and by 37.3% month-on-month up to 125.5 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was up 15.4% year-on-year and 35.6% month-on-month to $60.6 mn.
