Azov and Caspian Freight Market, Week 25, 2019

  • In the Azov market, the usual working attitude is getting back on track as the new season is just around the corner. Activity is increasing week by week and so do freight rates, which have slowly started their seasonal move.

The Black Sea coaster market is yet stagnant, according to Rufco shipbrokers. Too many open positions in Black and Marmara Seas are keeping this segment away from upward dynamic.

Freight rates to the Sea of Marmara from Rostov make $18-19 per ton.

Freight rates from Rostov to SE Black Sea ports are $16-17 per ton.

Russia is asking Iran to cancel import dues for wheat parcels. In case of positive outcome, this could potentially provide huge support to local market and ignite rates in the Caspian market.

The current freight rates from Astrakhan to Iran make $24-26 per ton.

Please note that the rates cited in this article are average market rates. We ask our readers to pay attention that this information is not a commercial offer and cannot be an example for comparison in commercial disputes and arbitration.
