RZD Logistics and the Chinese Sinotrans have signed an agreement on strategic cooperation at Transport Logistic in Munich.
The agreements envisages a long-term partnerships in developing container transit between China and Europe, namely, organizing block trains from the Chinese provinces where Sinotrans is present including Qingdao, Changsha, Shilong, Shenyang, etc.
The parties also intend to offer similar block trains in the reverse direction, from Europe to China.
In the framework of the agreement, RZD Logistics is to provide rolling stock and operate the trains on the 1520 gauge territory and in Europe, and help attract cargo.
The Chinese party will provide logistics services on its territory and will assist shippers in getting export subsidies.
The parties also intend to study possible investment projects aimed at developing terminal facilities that would help increase cargo traffic on the China – Europe – China route.
