According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, during the first month of 2019 Russia’s export of sawn goods made more than 1.4 mn cbm, up 14.6% year-on-year and down 9.9% month-on-month.
In terms of value, sawn goods export grew 21.1% year-on-year and declined 7.5% month-on-month making $320.2 mn.
Logs export dropped 25.8% year-on-year and as much as 49.8% month-on-month down to 1 mn tons. In terms of value, logs export was down 32.8% year-on-year and 46.4% month-on-month making $79.4 mn.
Plywood export increased 8% year-on-year, however declined 11.4% month-on-month and amounted to 206.1 thousand cbm in terms of volume. In terms of value, it grew 2.9% year-on-year and declined 11.2% month-on-month to make $96.3 min.
Wood pulp export was up 10.4% year-on-year and down 8.8% month-on-month amounting to 181.7 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it increased 4.7% year-on-year and declined 25.7% month-on-month making $107.7 mn.
Newsprint export surged by 47.7% year-on-year and declined by 4% month-on-month to make 102 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was up 69.3% year-on-year and down 9% month-on-month to $54.5 mn.
