Zvezda Shipyard in the Russian Far East has started cutting steel for a third 114,000 dwt Aframax tanker. The ceremony was attended by representatives of Rosnefteflot, State Transport Leasing Company, and the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
The series consists of 12 sisterships. The keel-laying of the lead vessel was held in the outfitting slipway on September 11, 2018, during the visit of RF President Vladimir Putin to Zvezda Shipyard.
At present, sections for the first two vessels are being manufactured and assembled in the workshops and in the slipway of Zvezda.
The lead ship is scheduled for delivery in 2020.
The vessels are 250 m long, 44 m broad and have a deadweight of 114 thousand tons. They feature a helipad.
