Alexander Drozdenko, Governor of the Leningrad Oblast, has signed an agreement on strategic cooperation in developing a multifunctional deep sea port in Primorsk with Ramis Deberdeev, Chairman of the Board of Primorsk Universal Handling Complex, at the Russian Investment forum in Sochi.
The estimated project cost is 90.6 bn rubles, the port facilities are to be put into operation in 2022. The full project capacity is up to 70 mn tons per annum including coal, mineral fertilizers, containers, general cargo and grain. The port territory will make some 780 ha. The port, when put into operation, is expected to create up to 3,130 jobs directly.
According to A.Drozdenko, it is planned to give the territory of the port the status of a special economic zone.
