The government of Leningrad Oblast has announced that LUKoil is interested in developing a dry cargo terminal in Vyssotsk in the Gulf of Finland. The projected terminal capacity at stage 1, to be completed by 2021, is some 7 mn tons per annum. At stage 2, the capacity is to be expanded up to 15 mn tons.
Currently, there already exists a coal terminal in Vyssotsk operated by Port Vyssotsky Ltd. Last year, the terminal handled 7.9 mn tons of coal, up 10.7% year-on-year.
LUKoil also has a terminal in Vyssotsk, RPK-Vyssotsk LUKoil-II, which handled oil products. In 2018, the throughput of the terminal made 10.9 mn tons exceeding the result of 2017 by 4.6%.
