  • During January-October 2018, cargo volume carried by all transport modes in the RF transport system grew 5.2% year-on-year to exceed 6.7 bn tons.

    According to the RF Statistics Agency, road transport accounts for the largest share in the entire volume with 4.6 bn tons, up 6.8% year-on-year.

    Rail cargo volume increased 2.4% up to 1.075 bn tons.

    Pipeline traffic was up 2.8% to 958.2 mn tons.

    Air freight increased 2.3% up to 0.9 mn tons.

    Maritime transport volume declined 20.7% down to 16.5 mn tons.

    Inland shipping volume was also down 2.7% to 96.4 mn tons.

    In September, road, maritime and inland shipping volumes decreased month-on-month.
