According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, in January-September 2018 Russia imported 50.1 mn pairs of leather footwear, up 17.3% year-on-year.
In September, leather footwear import declined by 42.2% month-on-month down to 5.2 mn pairs.
In terms of value, leather footwear import in January-September increased 15.7% up to $1.4 bn.
Clothes import also grew, in January-September it made slightly over $5.4 bn, up 8.7% year-on-year.
The import of cotton fabric increased 8.7% up to 203.7 mn sqm in physical terms. In terms of value it was up 12.3% to $118.2 mn.
Cotton fabric export from Russia grew by 9.3% up to 63.5 mn sqm physically and by 0.6% up to $34.8 mn in terms of value.
