According to the RF Federal Customs Statistics, during January-August 2018 Russia imported 45 mn pairs of leather footwear, up 19.5% year-on-year.
In terms of value, leather footwear import increased 19.1% up to some $1.3 bn.
In August, leather footwear import surged 28.6% month-on-month exceeding 9 mn pairs.
Clothes import in January-August grew by 9.8% up to over $4.8 bn.
Cotton fabric import increased 10.4% down to 182.6 mn sqm. In terms of value, it grew 12.3% up to $104 mn.
Cotton fabric export from Russia was up 4.3% up to 55.2 mn sqm and up 0.36% to $31.3 mn in terms of value.
